V3’s Commitment to the Community

The health of our community has always been at the root of everything we strive to accomplish at V3 and we’re hoping this message finds you healthy and full of hope.

While we are still in the middle of a very challenging period of time, we know we will all get through this together, moving forward as one.

We wanted to provide you with a brief update, along with a promise to continue to keep you posted on our efforts to bring a world-class aquatic and wellness center to North Minneapolis. Ours is a mission built around health disparities, and the current crisis has really re-energized our organization. COVID-19 disproportionately affects the very communities we’re trying to serve and exemplifies a historic lack of access to health care and wellness opportunities.

Since V3 exists to serve our community, we are using this time of uncertainty to help people.

  • For the foreseeable future, we’re assisting our tenants at 701 Plymouth Avenue North by offering flexibility and connecting them with resources. The economic toll of the coronavirus has been significant and widespread.

  • We’re very fortunate to have such a large space and we’ve offered it to the City of Minneapolis as civil servants continue to prepare for “worst case” scenarios. In this time of transition, our building could be used as a storage center for equipment needed to take care of our community if the virus continues to exponentially spread in the coming days and weeks.

While V3 remains engaged and committed to helping us get to the other side of this health crisis, we’re also using this time to rally our team and re-focus on our mission. The V3 Center will be more important than ever as we provide a space where we can save lives through swim lessons, economically energize a community by hosting regional events and create jobs for our youth!

Stay healthy and remain hopeful. Brighter days are ahead, especially here in the heart of North Minneapolis.
