Today’s guilty verdicts were profound for our city, state, and nation. We appreciate everyone whose collective energy, empathy, and advocacy helped ensure accountability.

We honor the life and legacy of Mr. George Floyd and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones who continue to live with an unthinkable loss.

The jury’s verdicts certainly provide hope, but we have much more work to do. We must use this momentum to continue addressing systemic racism and working to ensure safety for all Minnesotans. Justice for people of color should be the rule and not the exception.
