Summer Splash at Franklin Middle School | Event Recap

On June 3, 2023, V3 Sports hosted its first annual Summer Splash, an event designed to promote water safety, held at Franklin Middle School in North Minneapolis. This event was exactly what we needed to kick off this summer! There’s nothing quite like jumping in the pool or running through a sprinkler on a hot, humid day. There was a live DJ, food and snacks, cookies, double dutch, sprinklers, bubbles, and more!

The event started off with fun swimming lessons in Franklin’s pool. Next, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and have some food. After lunch, we all got to experience a beautiful performance by a local and very talented musician, Mayyadda. Her voice is incredible! If you haven’t heard of Mayyadda, then you need to do yourself a favor and look into her music. She also took some time during her performance to share her experience with swimming when she was a kid; leaving the audience inspired to be a stronger swimmer!

It was a hot day, but it was filled with lots of smiles and plenty of time in the water. Increasing the knowledge of swimming and the fun associated with aquatic learning is extremely important for our youth. At Summer Splash, not only did you get to learn how to swim, but you also had an opportunity to meet a really cool singer the same day and listen to her perform live. V3 Sports wants kids to learn how to swim, while having a really great time doing it; creating lasting memories with a positive experience.

We truly appreciate everyone that helped make this event a success! A special thank you goes out to Molly and Dr. Ayanna, the aquatic team leaders, for coordinating the event and making it happen and another special thank you to Franklin Middle School for facilitating the event. It’s amazing what can be accomplished when the community comes together for a greater purpose and mission.
