The V3 Center will be a place everyone on the Northside can be proud of.
It is designed to be a beacon of hope as well as a focal point bridging the Northside to Downtown. Most importantly, the building will serve as a hub for the community to gather and grow together.
In September 2017, V3 Sports purchased its site at 701 Plymouth Avenue North in Minneapolis. A year later, staff members began to work within the space. But 2019 was a very big year for progress; V3 not only acquired a 25-yard teaching pool, it secured and purchased an Olympic-sized, 50-meter pool that was used for the 2021 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. The same pool where Olympians realized their dreams will be used by V3 athletes and Northside community members. In fact, the scoreboard that displayed the winning times in Omaha will proudly hang above V3’s state-of-the-art Myrtha pool.
V3 broke ground on the Center on November 18, 2022 and is on track for opening in Q1 of 2024. The first phase of the project will include the 25-yard, 5-lane Myrtha teaching pool, an adjustable-depth therapy pool, a fitness center, a drop-in daycare and a restaurant.
The V3 name is as versatile as the V3 Center promises to be.
V3 stands for Victory in Three and can be broken down the following ways:
Swim, Bike & Run (Triathlon)
Character, Community & Commitment
Learning, Leadership & Life
